3d Ultrasound

We went for a private 3D scan and here is our baby boy at 23 weeks!

I took my mom as a mother's day present so she could see the baby :)

I think he looks just like Graham already!

Number 2

Well, I know I'm way behind in announcing this but we're expecting Baby Ball number two!

I'm just over 16 weeks pregnant now and so far all is well.

Ava is looking forward to being a big sister and she seems to like 'the baby in mummy's tummy.'

I didn't have much morning sickness this time around, just a bit of nausea and fatigue which has passed now. At the moment I'm just very hungry all the time and all I want is McDonalds food all the time!

In fact, it's embarrassing to admit but today I went to McDonalds and bought a Quarter Pounder meal for myself and some chicken nuggets for Ava. I ate my meal and when I looked over at Ava she was asleep in her carseat so I ate her last chicken nugget! Even after all of that, I was still hungry... so I went back to McDonalds and bought a Big Mac. I just couldn't control my hunger!

My tummy has grown much quicker this time and I've been in maternity jeans since before I was 12 weeks.

I've already felt the baby kicking a few times recently, which is always nice :)

We just got a new computer so it doesn't have any photos on it yet. I'll post the scan picture when I get a chance this week.

Ava's first drawings!

A couple of days ago Ava was bored so I asked her if she wanted to draw. She started to lose interest pretty quickly so I said 'Why don't you draw a picture of mummy?'

I was amazed when I saw what she produced:

She has never drawn a distinguishable picture before! Everything is just squiggles and lines. I was so impressed that I asked her to draw a picture of her daddy.

This is what she came up with:

My little artist!

Recent News

There hasn't been too much to update about recently, we've just been trying to keep warm and stay awake! Ava doesn't seem to care much about sleeping these days so she's awake all day long and wakes up at 6:00am every morning.

Last night we went for dinner at Isabelle, Eric and Cody's house and didn't get home until 9:00pm. I thought Ava would sleep in this morning because of her late night but nope! Wide awake at 6am again. *sigh*

Graham and I are going to bed earlier and earlier every night because we're so tired. He has been working a lot and I think he could use a couple of days off.

Ava and I went to a town called Chichester a few days ago and had a really nice time walking around the shops. I found some new jeans and Ava got some new markers and a colouring book. Graham was flying out of the airport nearby so we drove down with him and walked around while he worked. I drove over to Arundel Castle which was about 10 minutes away and Ava and I looked at it from the outside for a few minutes. She really liked it and she thinks that there's a fairy inside. We'll try and come back when it's open in April, it's such a beautiful castle.

It's not the best picture, the lighting wasn't great because the sun had nearly set. We'll go back and take better pictures another time. :)

Anyway, aside from her poor sleeping habits, Ava has been pretty well behaved recently - with the exception of the day she got ahold of a razor in the bathroom and cut her lip open... it was horrible but luckily it has healed really quickly and there's almost nothing to see now.

She had a bit of a tummy bug the day before yesterday which struck while we were grocery shopping and about as far away from the toilet as possible... amazingly Ava held it in until we got to the toilet and she seemed much better afterward. She had a low fever later that afternoon but has been fine since. Not sure what it was but I'm glad it seems to have passed quickly.

We went for a nice wintery walk the other day after it snowed. It was beautiful in the woods, the sun was shining through the trees and everything was sparkling. Shame the picture didn't capture quite how pretty it was.

Sneaky little monkey!

Ava likes to play with my makeup so occasionally I'll let her take a powder brush or I'll help her put on some light lipstick. This evening she wasn't satisfied with the usual allowance so I decided to let her play with a nearly empty loose powder container.

We sat down and played with it together; she would dip the brush into the powder and pat my face with it and then her own. She kept trying to sprinkle the powder on my head but even though almost nothing was coming out I didn't want her to in case some came loose and I ended up with a big powdery head.

She then found a cotton ball and started brushing my face with it and ordered me to close my eyes.

"Close your eyes mummy... keep them closed... don't open your eyes yet... 'sprinkle, sprinkle!'"

I opened my eyes when I heard 'sprinkle' and saw her shaking the powder over my head!! The cheeky little monkey shrieked when she saw me open my eyes and realised I had caught her!

I can't believe she tricked me into keeping my eyes closed just so she could sprinkle the powder on my head!

Our Christmas

I wish I had more time to update this blog but Ava just never lets me sit at the computer for more than 20 seconds before she starts climbing all over me and attacking the keyboard. She's doing this as I type which is getting very difficult!!

She has entered the Terrible Two's and I can't wait for her to grow out of them. She can be really sweet sometimes, but most of the time she's very bossy and whiney. She rarely lets me have any time to myself anymore. She's currently pulling on my left arm trying to drag me away from the laptop.

Christmas was very busy and our house was full every day. We had all of Graham's family with us and then had guests the following week up until New Years. Things are just starting to settle down now. Graham's mum and her husband came to stay with us last night and they are the last of the guests for a while now. We're going to see them again the weekend of the 21st when we take a family trip to Botton Village in North Yorkshire.
This was the first year that Ava seemed to understand who Santa Claus was. She asked him for a scooter and when she woke up on Christmas day there was a little pink and yellow scooter waiting for her under the tree. She was really excited and just kept saying "Scooter! Scooter! Scooter!" over and over again.

She received lots of lovely presents from friends and family; my mom sent her some Max & Ruby beanie babies along with a Max & Ruby book, Jenny gave her Cooper the Bear and a book, when you read it to him he responds to some of the phrases inside, it's really good! Sarah sent her an adorable pink Hobby Horse which she rides around saying "Clip clop!" all the time, and she was given some clothes and books by the rest of the family.

I didn't really take any pictures this year, it was just too busy!

Nearly Christmas!

I need to get better at posting here. I think I just find the picture uploading feature really annoying to use and it makes me put off writing a new post.

Only 2 more days until Christmas and we're finally finished shopping! We went early this morning to get the food (thinking that we were being clever and going to avoid the crowds - WRONG! Everyone in Surrey had the same idea as us.)

We finished buying for our Secret Santa stockings and for Ava's as well. Everyone is due to arrive sometime tomorrow after lunch time. I still have a few things to do around the house before everyone gets here though.

This year Santa is bringing Ava a little pink scooter. She has been asking for one since she saw her friend Aimee's a couple of weeks ago. We have it hiding in the spare room at the moment but I'm going to try and put it together and leave it infront of the Christmas tree with her stocking for Christmas morning. I hope she likes it :)
