38 days to go... Not that I'm counting.

Well I had my 34 week checkup yesterday (and I remembered to go!)
Everything seems to be going well. BP is good, tummy measured 34cm which is right on target, and baby's heart rate was 158 and very good according to the midwife. My next appointment is in 2 weeks. I can't believe how quickly the due date is coming up! Just over 5 weeks left to go. I'm getting really excited to meet this little girl :)

I'm a little bit worried that I might be underestimating just how often I'll need to change diapers... mainly because I just read something that said I can expect to change up to 50 a week. I'm not sure I even have 50 diapers in the house... Yikes.

I think I'll start putting my hospital bag together this week. Baby's going to be here before we know it so I should start getting prepared. Still waiting for the rocking chair to be delivered though, but once it is I should be able to finish up the baby's room.

Graham and I are no closer to agreeing on a name. In fact we've pretty much started over and I've been spending hours with random name generators to see if anything pops up that we like. So far I've found these to add to the list:

Isabella Louise Ball
Ava Louise Ball
Eva Louise Ball
Elise Louise Ball
Nicole Louise Ball
Olivia Louise Ball
Jessica Louise Ball

Maybe she'll be one of those? I think we'll just wait until she's born before we make a final decision.

6 weeks to go

I can't believe how forgetful I am these days!! I completely forgot to go to my antenatal class today and didn't remember until it had already been finished for 2 hours. I even have it written on two calenders!

I think I was more preoccupied with Graham's work schedule than I was with my own personal one. I hope I didn't miss anything important... Out of the 5 they had set, I've only attended 2 of them. Hopefully I'll remember to go to next weeks class...

Anyway... after I dropped Graham off at the airport I stopped at Home Base and bought some new things for the garden. All the flowers I planted in the spring were pretty much dead and I decided to get some things that would last throughout the year. It looks much tidier now :)

Baby has been wiggling around like crazy the past couple of days. I'm starting to wonder if she ever goes to sleep. My back gets so sore sometimes that it's almost unbearable. I've found that shoving a cushion under my stomach while I'm laying on my side helps quite a bit. Saba gave me some advice the other day that sounded good but now I can't remember what she said :( I'll have to email her... if I don't forget to.

Graham and I are no closer to agreeing on a name. I really want Adalyn and he really doesn't. I wish he would budge just a little bit so I could atleast tell myself there's a slight chance he'll come around, but for some reason he's dead set on not having this name. He says it's not a real one, which I think is a little weird. I swear he'd name it Martha or Gertrude if I let him. Maybe I'll just go to the registry office myself one day and name her without him!

Oh well... maybe the perfect name will just spring up and surprise us one day... although we're getting very close to the big day so hopefully it'll surprise us soon.

Mom's Visit

It's been ages since I last wrote here! I've been so busy with things that I haven't even had a chance to think.

Not much has changed with the baby anyway. I'm just getting bigger and she's always got the hiccups. My back hurts more often now though, and usually only when I'm sitting in a chair or in the car. If I lay down it stops hurting but sitting any longer than about 10 minutes is pretty painful.

I started going to my antenatal classes last week, I had one on Friday, one on Saturday and now they're every Friday until the end of the month. I couldn't make it to the first one, but I attended the Saturday class last week and the Friday class today. They're a little bit boring, I have to say. Not at all what I was expecting. We just kind of sit around and listen to the midwife talk about labour... I kind of wish I'd been left in the dark about the whole thing now. I knew it wasn't going to be fun but I think I'd rather go in not knowing what was going to happen.

Anyway, I'm still eating like I'm on death row. I've actually got a box of mini muffins sitting next to me right now and within about a minute and a half I had already eaten 5. I'm such a pig!

My mom was here this past week for a visit. She arrived on the 3rd and went home on the 12th. It was a really nice visit, but it went by very quickly. We were pretty busy while she was here, we went to London for a day and we went up to Stratford to visit Graham's family on the weekend. Here are some pictures from her visit:

Anyway, it was a nice week. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and do fun things while the rest of the family is here in July when the baby is born.
