Sneaky little monkey!

Ava likes to play with my makeup so occasionally I'll let her take a powder brush or I'll help her put on some light lipstick. This evening she wasn't satisfied with the usual allowance so I decided to let her play with a nearly empty loose powder container.

We sat down and played with it together; she would dip the brush into the powder and pat my face with it and then her own. She kept trying to sprinkle the powder on my head but even though almost nothing was coming out I didn't want her to in case some came loose and I ended up with a big powdery head.

She then found a cotton ball and started brushing my face with it and ordered me to close my eyes.

"Close your eyes mummy... keep them closed... don't open your eyes yet... 'sprinkle, sprinkle!'"

I opened my eyes when I heard 'sprinkle' and saw her shaking the powder over my head!! The cheeky little monkey shrieked when she saw me open my eyes and realised I had caught her!

I can't believe she tricked me into keeping my eyes closed just so she could sprinkle the powder on my head!

Our Christmas

I wish I had more time to update this blog but Ava just never lets me sit at the computer for more than 20 seconds before she starts climbing all over me and attacking the keyboard. She's doing this as I type which is getting very difficult!!

She has entered the Terrible Two's and I can't wait for her to grow out of them. She can be really sweet sometimes, but most of the time she's very bossy and whiney. She rarely lets me have any time to myself anymore. She's currently pulling on my left arm trying to drag me away from the laptop.

Christmas was very busy and our house was full every day. We had all of Graham's family with us and then had guests the following week up until New Years. Things are just starting to settle down now. Graham's mum and her husband came to stay with us last night and they are the last of the guests for a while now. We're going to see them again the weekend of the 21st when we take a family trip to Botton Village in North Yorkshire.
This was the first year that Ava seemed to understand who Santa Claus was. She asked him for a scooter and when she woke up on Christmas day there was a little pink and yellow scooter waiting for her under the tree. She was really excited and just kept saying "Scooter! Scooter! Scooter!" over and over again.

She received lots of lovely presents from friends and family; my mom sent her some Max & Ruby beanie babies along with a Max & Ruby book, Jenny gave her Cooper the Bear and a book, when you read it to him he responds to some of the phrases inside, it's really good! Sarah sent her an adorable pink Hobby Horse which she rides around saying "Clip clop!" all the time, and she was given some clothes and books by the rest of the family.

I didn't really take any pictures this year, it was just too busy!
